The captivating design of this vintage Qashqai bag was achieved using the specialized floating weft technique, typically reserved for narrower pieces like tent bands or, in this case, bags, allowing for incredibly intricate detail. Here, black goat hair is combined with white cotton to create a complex weave. To add a charming and creative touch, the weaver incorporated colored, knotted or carpet technique diamonds made from sheep's wool. The otherwise rigid and symmetrical light and dark background pattern is beautifully softened by the addition of color and the delightful irregularity of these knotted areas. Along the edge, the weaver added extra tassels, some of which are worn down to their knot base. All dyes are natural.
