Swayman helped the United States win the 2025 IIHF World Championship, its first since 1933, earning a shutout in the gold medal game. A former University of Maine standout, he won the 2020 Mike Richter Award as the top NCAA Division I goalie and was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award
