This bed-mounted tire carrier for the military HMMWV includes 2 lug nuts for holding the mounted tire to the carrier. It does not include mounting hardware for mounting to the vehicle bed. The lug nuts are 1/2" diameter with a thread count of 20. With this design you can have your spare tire mounted vertically and securely to make more room in the bed of your vehicle and provide additional security to reduce the likelihood of theft of your spare tire. Storing your tire in a vertical position also reduces rusting of the rim from precipitation pooling on the rim and causing rust.
